Geologists of the World presents a new exhibition in Catalonia to show the impact of natural disasters on societies.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is a specialised agency of the UN to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. It has opened a new office in order to implement a Programme of best practices dedicated to promoting technical ccoperation among local governments

The III ONLINE Congress of the Observatory of Cybersociety will take place between 20 November and 3 December 2006. This third edition invites us to participate, debate and think actively around the subject Open Knowledge, Free Society.
Participation is free but registration is needed.

The 1st International Forum of Translation/Interpreting and Social Activism will take place at the University of Granada from 28 to 30 April 2007.

This 1st International Forum aims to provide a platform for initiating debate on the urgent issue of translation/interpreting and activism among scholars, trainers, practitioners and civil society actors.

Environment Award

 

 

The Environment Award of the Generalitat de Catalunya was created in September 2005 to give public recognition to the work carried out by individuals, entities or institutions in the promotion of the environment. For its first edition, it will consider research projects or initiatives related to the environment friendly administration of water and the sustainability of edification. The annual award of the Catalan Agency on waste disposal for initiatives in the reduction and recycling of waste disposal will also be given the same day.

 

The ceremony will take place in Barcelona on 7 June in the context of the celebrations of World Environment Day.
